🖥️ Tech Bytes
XAI Unveils Grok 2.0 Beta for Users
xAI has started rolling out early beta access for Grok 2, a new AI model that leverages real-time data from X and uses Flux.1 to generate relatively unfiltered AI images. Currently available to a select group of premium X users, Grok 2 sets itself apart from other AI models like ChatGPT by accessing and utilizing real-time information directly from X. It offers two modes: a standard mode and a “fun” mode, the latter providing a more entertaining personality. Unlike other LLMs, Grok 2 can reference specific tweets when summarizing news. With Grok 3 rumored for late 2024, xAI is quickly emerging as a strong competitor in the AI space.
Epic Systems Unveils Over 100 AI Features for Healthcare Professionals and Patients
Epic Systems a leading healthcare software company, recently unveiled AI-powered innovations at its Users Group Meeting, aiming to transform healthcare efficiency and patient care.
Among the key features, their generative AI helps doctors craft clear and concise communication for patient messages, letters, and instructions. Routine tasks like prescription orders and lab work will be automated, easing the administrative load on doctors. Additionally, AI tools are being developed to simplify insurance processes, including appeals and prior authorizations, while patient care will be personalized through AI-driven data analysis.
Epic also introduced "Teamwork," an AI-powered staff scheduling tool designed to optimize healthcare facility operations. Looking ahead, Epic envisions advanced AI applications, such as real-time patient monitoring and virtual health assistants, further showcasing the potential of AI to revolutionize healthcare.
Procreate's Anti-AI Pledge Wins Over Creative Community
Procreate, a leading iPad illustration app, has boldly decided not to integrate generative AI into its products. This choice has been met with widespread approval from the creative community, who have expressed concerns about the potential downsides of AI in the art world. The CEO James Cuda explained his reasoning for avoiding generative AI in the video: “We don't want to contribute to a future where artists are replaced by machines.” Many artists argue that generative AI often uses their work without permission, puts jobs at risk, and undermines the value of human creativity. In contrast to other companies facing backlash for their AI strategies, Procreate's unwavering support for human artistry has earned it strong backing from artists everywhere.
