Udio, New Music Generation App is a Gamechanger
Udio, a new AI model for music production, developed by former Google Deepmind researchers, has just been launched recently and garnered a lot of attention from prominent figures and influences online. Udio enables users to generate complete audio tracks in less than 60 seconds using simple text prompts such as genre, lyrics, and favorite singers or artists. The udio app right now has a free plan for a limited time in which you can make up to 120 songs per month. the AI model provides several features like language selection, music genres, and remixing options. Udio has made some significant advancements in AI music production beating most of the competitors in the market right now. Check out my thread on Udio sample music here.
Instagram to release new AI Assistant “Creator AI” for influencers
Instagram is testing a new AI assistant called “Creator AI” that can help you free up your time by chatting directly with your audience. The AI assistant will be trained on the influencer’s past content and interactions, mimicking their communication style. Influencers will also have control over the AI’s responses by providing data and pre-programmed answers. While some creators are apprehensive about AI potentially misrepresenting them or creating inauthentic interaction, this initiative aligns with Meta’s strategy to integrate AI across the platform and attract more influencers to the platform.
Teachers are now using AI to make learning more effective
Two sixth-grade teachers in New York are using AI tools to create lesson plans, find teaching resources, and personalize learning for their students. Teachers are using AI to save time on lesson planning by generating materials like reading passages, quizzes, and activities. The district superintendent is enthusiastic about AI's potential to personalize learning and reduce teacher workload. He believes AI tools will continue to improve in the coming year. Teachers acknowledge that AI can make mistakes and needs to be carefully reviewed to avoid misinformation. AI is not currently used for grading essays due to student privacy concerns. However, the superintendent expects future upgrades to address this issue. Both teachers and librarians find AI to be a valuable tool that complements their teaching but doesn't replace it.
CEO of Mistral Says AI Companies Are Trying to Create God-Like AGI
Arthur Mensch, CEO of AI startup Mistral, believes that the quest for artificial general intelligence (AGI) is unrealistic and similar to trying to create God, something he doesn’t believe in. Mensch is concerned about American giants dominating the AI field and potentially imposing AI standards that don’t align with other cultures. He argues Giant tech companies are focused more on creating AGI rather than building practical AI that aligns with European values as Mistral is funded by France. The EU has implemented regulations to protect citizens from AI risks, Meanwhile, Mensch argues that open-source models are a tactic by Big Tech to suppress competition in the AI landscape.
